Why LEXR for Robotics & Embedded AI

01

Innovation is our mission

We exist to move entrepreneurs forward: better, faster legal services built for teams working at the frontier of robotics and embedded AI, not against them.

02

Move faster with LEXR

We accelerate your journey from R&D to market deployment, covering research and collaboration agreements, IP protection, export controls and autonomous-systems regulation, so you can ship advanced technology with confidence.

03

Trusted by industry leaders

Since 2016 we've advised deep-tech companies through the hard parts: hardware-software integration, cross-border scaling and regulatory complexity. We understand the technology as well as the law.

What we offer for Robotics & Embedded AI

From R&D through market deployment, end-to-end legal support tailored to autonomous systems and intelligent hardware.

We draft and negotiate the commercial agreements robotics and embedded-AI companies run on — supply, manufacturing, distribution and integration — with clear risk allocation, and we keep you on the right side of export controls and sanctions when you sell across borders.

We build an IP strategy across the full hardware, software and model stack, secure ownership when you collaborate with universities, contractors and partners, and structure licensing and technology-transfer arrangements so your competitive edge stays yours.

We align your product with the GDPR, the EU AI Act, the Data Act and the Cyber Resilience Act — assessing whether your system qualifies as high-risk, mapping the obligations that follow, and guiding you through conformity assessments before launch.

We help you reduce liability across the product lifecycle — through contract terms, technical documentation, risk assessments, cybersecurity measures and incident-response processes — so an autonomous system in the field doesn't become an open-ended exposure.

Robotics & Embedded AI legal FAQ

The questions robotics and embedded-AI founders and teams ask us most before they book a call.

Often, yes. The AI Act can reach Swiss companies whose systems are placed on the EU market or whose output is used in the EU, regardless of where you are established. We help you determine whether your system qualifies as high-risk, what obligations follow (risk management, documentation, conformity assessment, CE marking), and how to build compliance into development rather than bolt it on before launch.

Robotics and embedded-AI hardware — sensors, chips, autonomous components — can fall under Swiss dual-use and export-control law, and under EU or US rules when you sell into those markets. We assess whether your products are controlled, advise on licensing and sanctions screening, and set up an export-compliance process so cross-border sales don't stall or expose you to penalties.

Liability can attach to the manufacturer, the software provider and the operator, and the revised EU product-liability regime now expressly covers software and AI systems. We help you allocate and reduce that risk across the product lifecycle through contract terms, technical documentation, risk assessments, cybersecurity measures and incident-response processes.

Deep-tech IP rarely sits in one place. We build a strategy spanning patents, trade secrets, software copyright and rights in training data and models, secure ownership when you work with universities, contractors or partners, and handle licensing and technology-transfer agreements so your edge stays yours as you scale.

Connected devices process data and create security exposure, so the GDPR, the Swiss FADP, the EU Data Act and the Cyber Resilience Act can all apply. We advise on lawful data use (including for model training), data-sharing and access obligations, and the security and reporting duties that increasingly come with putting connected hardware on the market.
